Reading the Qur'an during covid-19

Pandemic of Covid-19 shall not stop our learning and ibadah, but we need to apply safety measures to ensure everyone is safe and well. Two weeks ago, at the beginning of semi lock down in our neighborhood, we started a program to read three juz in one day. Alhamdulillah, we have finished 30 juz in 10 days.

We also have another program that is called "Qur'an camp", which is a program to read Qur'an during school holiday. Usually, we have a routine at 04.00 a.m. We go to pray tahajud, pray subuh, while reciting and memorizing the holy Qur'an. We repeat it again after breakfast at 9 am.

However, because now we have the covid-19 crisis and we are encouraged to do "Social Distancing", we conducted our rather small "Qur'an camp", with only 7 students left (usually we have 20-30 students in our boarding house. And of course, we read the Qur'an with a rather distance apart.

When reading the Qur'an by a rather far distance, we felt a bit strange because usually we read the Qur'an close together. Sometimes, we allocate one table for two people. Nonetheless, for breaking the chain of covid-19 viruses, we apply "social distancing", thus we innovated our way to read Qur'an, and we can do it!
